Larissa Markus is a science communicator with a background in plant biotechnology and a passion for making research accessible, engaging, and meaningful.
She works at the European Science Communication Institute, where she supports public engagement efforts and develops content for EU-funded projects.
Larissa holds a master’s degree from Wageningen University and a bachelor’s in Liberal Arts and Sciences, specialising in molecular biology and biochemistry, from Maastricht University.
For over five years, she has been an active volunteer with iGEM, helping teach and inspire others in the field of science communication and synthetic biology.
Combining scientific expertise with creative storytelling, she brings science to life through podcasts, workshops, and public campaigns.
